The premise
Presence, made permanent.
CEPHI does not make memorial objects. A Companion stone is commissioned from a
living, healthy coat — a record of the animal as they are today.
Fur and feathers are keratin, the same carbon-rich protein as human hair. Our
laboratory isolates that elemental carbon and grows it into a diamond around a
seed crystal — chemically and optically identical to any other diamond, and
gradable under the same standards.
The harvest asks nothing of the animal beyond an ordinary grooming
appointment. Your master groomer simply sets the clippings aside into the
Repository Capsule instead of the bin. No plucking, no root, no discomfort —
the medium is carbon, and clipped keratin carries it in full.

Dogs, cats and beyond
Long-coated breeds fill the capsule in a single grooming session. Short coats,
small animals and birds accumulate across several routine appointments — the
capsule is simply kept and returned when the 5.0 g measure is met. Feathers
gathered from natural moult are equally suitable.
The household stone
Multiple companions may be fused into a single stone through the same Lineage
Matrix processing used in our Union line — one diamond carrying the pack, or the
whole aviary. Each animal is named on the Certificate of Biological Origin.
The blended bond
For those who wish it, an owner’s hair and a companion’s fur may be combined
within one commission — a single lattice holding both signatures. This is
arranged as a custom commission; raise it at consultation.

A single bezel-set stone on a fine chain — the companion carried at the collarbone, every day, without ceremony.

Companion stones are commissioned as pendants, rings, studs, or as loose
stones kept in the Maison presentation case. Carat, colour and cut are defined
at consultation; colour follows the same trace-element chemistry described in
the science —
a coat’s colour does not determine the stone’s.
