What this is not.
A reasonable person arriving here has questions before they have interest. Here are the four answers, in the order they are usually asked.
Not ashes.
Every CEPHI diamond is grown from the carbon of a living contributor — hair from a person, fur or feathers from an animal, collected at an ordinary appointment. We do not accept cremated remains, and we never will. That is the adjacent category, and it is not ours.
Not DNA.
A diamond is pure crystallized carbon. It preserves no genetic material whatsoever, and any suggestion otherwise would be false. We state this as a point of pride in accuracy: what your stone carries is a carbon signature, proven by documentation, not biology.
Not covert.
Every contributor knows, and every contributor agrees — recorded in the commission dossier before anything is grown. A surprise piece is possible precisely because the giver contributes their own carbon; nothing is ever taken from someone unaware.
Not a simulant.
A CEPHI stone is a real diamond — the same crystal structure, hardness, and brilliance as a mined stone, graded by an independent laboratory. It is not cubic zirconia, not moissanite, not glass.
What it is: a bespoke diamond grown from someone here to give the sample, certified twice, and documented from capsule to certificate.
